Friday has become my bike to work day

Apparently Friday’s have become my bike to work day. I haven’t ridden since last Friday for no good reason other than the fact that my butt was sore from last weeks sub-zero ride. Today was a good day to ride. 25 degrees warmer than last week, and that made all the difference. My legs and feet stayed warm and I was actually sweating because of a 20 mph headwind on the way to work. This stretched my typical 45 to 50 minute ride to work to over an hour!

The way home was much easier, though the wind had died down a bit. Now it was pushing me and I stayed in the big ring most of the way. The coarse that I typically take home has three large hills that I use the lower gears on. Only on a few rides in the late season do I stay in the big ring on them and even then I have never been able to do all three in the big ring on the same ride.

Anyway with only a trace of blowing snow, the ride was very relaxing. I thought, as I rode through a small valley, how can anyone not love to bike?
